Information Technology Services (ITS) is here for you. We provide a host of incredible services to support your academic pursuits and are your trusted experts on any issues regarding technology. See below for guidance on setting up your devices and accounts as well as learning about the resources available to you. You can also log in to the myFSU Mobile app to access the FSU Tech Checklist. The Tech Checklist is an interactive checklist that assists students while setting up their technology for the new school year.

    Your password is used to access Canvas, myFSU, FSU email and other university sites and systems. If you need assistance with your password, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 850-644-4357

    myFSU Portal is your one-stop shop for all things FSU. Here you can register for classes, view grades, check financial aid, access your email and more. Follow these steps to sign in to myFSU Portal.

  • Canvas
    Canvas is a web-based learning management system used by students and professors at FSU. Submit assignments, monitor your grades and access course material all through the service—provided free to all FSU students.
    TIP: Click the Canvas logo in myFSU Portal for quick access to your course materials.

Connect your tech to the FSU network if you are living in a residence hall

  • Set Up Your Printer
    Connect your printer to the ResNet network with a USB cable as wireless printers are not supported by FSU Wi-Fi. The wireless printer function interferes with the strength of the network. All printers should be wired and connected to a computer. To set up your printer with a wired connection, see your individual printer’s setup manual.

  • Register Your Gaming Console or Streaming Device
    1. Connect the device to a network port with an Ethernet cable
    2. Obtain the device's wired (to connect to FSU ResNet) or wireless (to connect to FSUGuest) MAC address. For more information see What is a MAC address?
    3. Go to
    4. Sign in with your FSUID and password
    5. Enter the device's MAC address and click Register
    6. After registering, you may need to restart the device to complete registration

    Please note ...

    • The device registration pages cannot be accessed using a non-FSU network.
    • Gaming systems may be registered to use the wired residence hall network (Ethernet) only and are not supported on the wireless networks (FSUSecure or FSUGuest).
    • Student devices registered on will not work outside of the residence halls.
    • Device registrations are valid until the end of each summer semester and must be renewed every year.
