Overview

Research involves a lot of data, and all that data needs storage. The primary storage system of the High Performance Computing cluster (HPC) is the IBM Spectrum Scale general parallel file system (GPFS). The GPFS is a multi-petabyte parallel storage system that supports high-speed operations on the HPC, making it ideal for data in motion. Users are entitled to a no-cost allocation in their private home directory, and research groups can purchase dedicated volumes for data sharing and collaboration. If you need even more power, add on the RCC GarnetCache service to your virtual machine for even faster solid-state storage. This service is provided exclusively for FSU researchers to support grant-funded research activities.
