Florida State University is excited to announce a partnership with Google Education. Google Education is designed to support and enhance academic and professional experience for FSU students, faculty and staff. With Google Education, you will have access to a suite of tools that foster collaboration, streamline communication and boost productivity.
What is Google Education?
Google Education is a secure, cloud-based platform on Google Workspace, created to provide schools and universities with a secure academic and professional environment. It provides a collaborative environment where students, faculty, and staff can connect, create and share easily. Available to anyone with an @fsu.edu email address, Google Education offers convenient access to popular Google tools like Drive, Docs, Sheets and Meet, all through your FSU single sign-on.
What is protected in Google Education?
As part of Florida State University’s partnership with Google Education, certain platforms are protected under our agreement. These include: Gemini, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Chat, Sites, Keep, Jamboard, NotebookLM, Tasks, Contacts and Vault.
What is not protected in Google Education?
The following tools are not included in FSU’s Google data protection agreement. They will not be available in FSU Google accounts and should not be used to store or transmit university data: Gmail, Calendar, Maps, Translate, YouTube, Classroom and Earth.

- Enter your FSU email (fsuid@fsu.edu).
- Enter your FSU password.
- Confirm on Duo, if needed.
- Select the I understand button to acknowledge the Terms of Service.
The most comprehensive and updated resources for learning Google Tools come directly from Google. The Google Workspace Learning Center offers a wealth of tutorials, guides, and tips specifically tailored for various uses, including educational settings. There, you can find sections dedicated to each available tool, including Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets and Gemini. You can find these specific app guides on this main page under the Learn by Product section or by conducting a web search for the specific app + Learning Center.
NOTE: Not all services listed in the Learning Center are available through the FSU license. You can see your available services by clicking on the 9-dot grid in the top right corner next to your profile picture.
If you prefer a video-based explanation or walkthrough, FSU provides access to LinkedIn Learning, a fantastic platform offering a wide array of video courses taught by industry experts. There, you can find structured learning paths and individual courses on various Google applications.

No. Gmail or Calendar will not be available for use with Google Tools.
No. Kumo will not be available for use with Google Tools; however, it will still be available for use with Microsoft 365.
- Visit this Google article for steps on downloading your data.
- Sign in to your FSU Google Account.
- Navigate to the tool you would like to transfer content to (e.g., Google Drive).
- Drag and drop the downloaded file or select the New button to upload it to Google Drive. Once the upload is complete, you will see it in your Drive.
- Select the uploaded folder to see your files.
