Where are you from?
I’m originally from the Tampa Bay area, but moved up to Tallahassee for school in 2013. My address has said Tallahassee far longer than any other city, and from meeting my wife, starting a family, and this new position, I’m happy to call Tallahassee home.
Where did you attend school?
I attended Florida State University from 2013 to 2017. I started as a mechanical engineering major, but shifted to Media Production about halfway through. I focused on Broadcast Technology during my senior year and have worked in technology ever since.
Why did you choose to work in technology?
Technology is such a unique field. I chose to work in technology because there’s such an opportunity to utilize this tool that not everyone understands to better the lives of all the people it touches. Specifically, within Athletics, I love the way that I can leverage technology to improve the operations of our departments, teams, student athletics, and coaching staff, while also engaging with fans in a more impactful way. I aim for everything that I do to help someone else in a tangible way.
And don’t get me wrong, it’s also really cool and fun to get to enjoy some of the new technologies before they become consumer-level.
How long have you been at FSU?
I’ve been an employee at Florida State University in some way since 2016, and I started in my current role as the Assistant Athletics Director of Information Technology in October of 2025.
What is your role at FSU ITS?
I oversee all ITS operations within the Athletics Department. This includes all technology being utilized by our departments, our teams and coaches, venue technology, and regular day-to-day operations. My role also includes working on the technological aspects of capital projects, from ideas, planning, etc. all the way to integration and continuing support after the vendors leave.
I also serve on both ITS’ Executive Leadership Team and Athletics’ leadership team.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
It may sound a bit prideful, but I love that I can look around our campus and say, “I helped build that”. Florida State holds such a special place in my heart; I look at it as one of the ways I can give back to an organization that has given so much to me.
Additionally, I think the way people experience our Athletic events and operations has a tremendous influence on the perception of our University as a whole. And to know that what I’m doing is impacting thousands of people per month, helping them take a break from whatever is going on in their personal lives, to enjoy one of our sporting events, is very meaningful to me.
What is the most rewarding project you have worked on at FSU?
I’ve been a part of several projects with FSU, from newer ones like the Doak Campbell West Sideline Club project, the Doak Campbell LED board replacements, and softball audio enhancement, to the older ones like the 2017 build out of the ACC Network control rooms that we operate every week for one of our 9 broadcast sports. I think the one that has been the most personally rewarding was the Howser Stadium LED and Sound upgrade. It was the first project that I was involved in from start to finish, and from a fan perspective, this upgrade has changed the game and the ways fans experience a baseball game at Florida State.
What is your favorite app?
If we’re talking about food appetizers, I’ve got to go with fried Mac & cheese balls. So good…
But in light of the topic at hand, I’m a huge consumer of media, in general. Between Spotify and my audiobook app, that probably constitutes a good 50% of the app usage in my daily life.
If you were to invent one piece of technology, what would it be?
As a father of a young daughter and another child on the way, I think Rosey from The Jetsons would be the pinnacle of technology for me. A self-automating robot that cooks, cleans, etc. For the younger generation, H.E.R.B.I.E. from the Fantastic Four movie would also fit the bill. A very close second, though, would be the Rehydrator device from Spy Kids that provides fully prepared meals from an infinite shelf-life packet.
What is a fun fact about you?
I’ve worked with a few comic cons over the years and have probably met at least one of your favorite childhood celebrities and a few of your current ones.
What do you do in your free time?
I have too many hobbies for the amount of free time that I actually have, but I love to travel, am an avid whiskey collector, and enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons when the time allows. We even have a D&D podcast if anyone is interested in that!
