Welcome to the Information Technology Services (ITS) Intern Cohort at Florida State University! Our program is proud to host 100 dynamic interns each semester who are integral to the fabric of ITS, contributing across various departments and projects. These talented individuals are not only gaining hands-on experience in their respective fields but are also immersed in a wealth of opportunities beyond their day-to-day tasks. From exclusive networking events to professional development workshops and participation in major campus-wide initiatives, our interns are equipped to excel both during their time at ITS and in their future technology careers. We celebrate the drive and innovation that each intern brings to our community as they forge connections with peers and lay the groundwork for a thriving career in the technology field post-graduation.

Meet the Director
Sara Mischler, the ITS outreach coordinator and intern director, is deeply committed to mentoring students as they navigate their career paths. She hopes to play a pivotal role in helping them take that crucial first step toward discovering their aspirations for the future. Interestingly, Sara’s own experience as an intern has given her firsthand insight into the true value of internships—there is nothing quite like gaining practical experience and learning from real-world challenges before you begin your career.
Sara’s journey with student interns began in 2021, marking the start of a significant investment in time, resources and finances into our FSU students by the ITS leadership team. The inaugural intern cohort in Fall 2021 comprised a modest group of 12 students. Fast forward to today, and the program has flourished, boasting over 100 student interns. (This is Sara’s most notable professional achievement.) When not at work, Sara is likely spending quality time with her family, which includes her two young sons, her husband and their golden retriever. A passionate fan of FSU sports, Sara holds a firm belief that the FSU community is unparalleled.
