ITS Celebrates Employee Appreciation Day

Monday 03/11/2024

On March 1, 2024, Florida State University (FSU) ITS employees celebrated Employee Appreciation Day. This national holiday was created to honor and recognize the dedicated efforts of hardworking staff worldwide. Employers can show love to their employees through a heartfelt message, a sweet treat, or a virtual social hour to encourage camaraderie among employees. For Employee Appreciation Day, we want to highlight the achievements of our ever-growing organization, with nearly 600 employees encompassing an array of departments, including Integrated Communications, Information Security and Privacy and Information Technology Service Management.

Our organization aids and enables multiple services for FSU faculty, students and staff to have a high-quality working and learning environment. The Research Computing Center (RCC), an academic service unit of ITS, stands as a premier high-powered computing center. It oversees a varied campus cyberinfrastructure, empowering FSU faculty members from disciplines like physics, psychology, communication, and information to undertake pioneering research. The RCC encourages students to learn about virtual machines, programming languages, and data archival. Similarly, ITS has made it its mission to establish security initiatives for the FSU community. In the last two years, we have implemented enterprise computer protection and threat response on FSU-owned devices and two-factor authentication changes to increase security and streamline the process.

Along with research and security resources, ITS is a leading provider of technological services on campus. Microsoft Office Suite, Eduroam, marketing technologies and online surveys are just a few of the applications our team is working on daily to provide an enjoyable learning and work experience. While our Service Desk team works hard to fix any service requests you may need help resolving. The collaborative efforts of the ITS team play a pivotal role in fostering innovation, enhancing productivity, and upholding the institution's commitment to providing innovative technological solutions for a dynamic and evolving environment.
