The High Performance Cluster is Getting More Performant
Monday 06/30/2025
In June, RCC staff deployed 20 new compute nodes in the high-performance cluster (HPC) with two GPU cards each. The nodes increase the GPU capabilities of the cluster by 25,360 TFlops and have the following specs:
- AMD EPYC 9135 16-core, 3.65GHz CPU x1
- 288 GB RAM (18 GB per core)
- 1 TB NVME solid state storage
- NVIDIA Connect-X 6 HDR 200Gbps IB network card
- 2x NVIDIA RTX 4500 Ada GPUs w/24GB RAM (specs)
These new GPU nodes will power data science and AI research at FSU. The HPC is still working on the final charge-back rates, but we will provide a substantial subsidy for research groups who lease these and future GPU nodes. Direct inquires to support@rcc.fsu.edu.
