Information Technology Administration Partnership Program (ITAPP)

The Information Technology Administration Partnership Program (ITAPP) is a technology collaboration program that assists individual units at Florida State University with the management of IT resources.

When you partner with ITAPP, you no longer need to single-handedly manage and maintain your complex IT department in isolation. Each ITAPP partnership is unique to the unit it supports, and our team of professionals works with you to develop a customized technology management plan that aligns with your department’s overall strategic direction. We take the time to understand your distinct needs by focusing on what your unit can do internally and where ITS can provide consistent support.

“ITAPP has helped us so much in both reviewing and providing needed direction.” - Susan Fiorito, Director, Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship

How ITAPP Works

ITAPP is voluntary and open to all units at Florida State University.

Using the ITAPP model, each individual unit continues to maintain ownership of their IT resources and collaborates with ITS to manage their IT environment and plan future IT priorities and strategic directions. The goal of ITAPP is to ensure units succeed in integrating and leveraging the central IT resources available at FSU, including:

  • Server support
  • Workstation support
  • Network devices and infrastructure
  • Server consolidation and virtualization
  • Data storage and backup
  • Web hosting
  • IT assessments

Benefits

Each ITAPP partnership is backed by ITS. When a partnership is established, a natural synergy is achieved which enhances collaboration and creates a more stable IT support environment than working separately.

Improve efficiency
An ITAPP partnership allows you to invest in technology already hosted by ITS at Florida State. ITS subject matter experts are available to provide consulting services to help our partners address their unique IT needs. This translates to better planning and budgeting for the future.

Simplify processes
By leveraging centrally managed, turnkey IT resources, you no longer need to worry about the complexities of administering your IT environment. ITS assists with IT planning, budgeting and life cycle replacement, thereby freeing you to focus on unique IT needs in support of your primary academic, business or research mission.

Decrease risks
When a partnership is established with ITAPP, units are able to centralize their IT needs. The unified management of IT resources promotes a stable environment and protects your unit from risks such as obsolete technologies.

Support professional development
ITAPP partners receive centralized management and training for IT support staff. This advanced training helps expand team members’ skill sets and prepares staff for advancement opportunities. ITS also actively participates in hiring staff.

Collaborate with campus
When you join ITAPP, you are instantly connected to campus-wide IT resources and other ITAPP units. This partnership opens lines of communication and helps develop services of interest and use to the university.

“The onboarding, mentoring and cross-training that ITAPP provides to staff is an important benefit that units would be hard pressed to implement on their own.” Michael Hartline, Dean, College of Business
