Drupal is getting an upgrade
In spring 2023, ITS will be upgrading from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9. Drupal 9 will include more accessibility features, updated fonts and styling and an updated template to use the new Strata 3.3.
In preparation for this upgrade, ITS will be setting up your website with the new Drupal 9 functionality. These websites will be available for you to preview and approve during the fall semester. You will preview your site to ensure that the look and functionality are correct before it goes live, in spring 2023.
If your unit currently uses Drupal 8, you will need to review your site prior to the date listed on the ITS website for your unit. We will send you an email once your site is ready for review. Your site will be available for preview and ready to go live in the spring. ITS has created a webpage to list the date each FSU website will be available to preview in Drupal 9 and the approval deadline.
You will need to log in to the Drupal Upgrade site with your FSUID to see the list of units. If you see any issues with your website, please submit a ticket immediately with what needs to be corrected. If everything is okay, you will submit a ticket with “approved”.
Many FSU websites have already been switched to the newer Strata 3.3 theme and this update will make websites consistent across the university. You should see very few changes to the theme or the administrative interface once the upgrade is complete.
If you have any questions about the Drupal 9 upgrade, please contact ITS Web Services at its-webservices@fsu.edu.
