Skype for Business to Teams

Microsoft Teams is the new central hub for teamwork. It is a central interface that brings together chat, meetings, calling, collaboration, app integration and file storage all in one place. You can use Teams from the web, desktop or mobile, no matter where you are.  Teams can help streamline the way users collaborate and get work done.

Microsoft is retiring Skype for Business on July 31, 2021, after which it will no longer be accessible or supported.  ITS is excited to announce this change and will be upgrading all users to Microsoft Teams by December 17, 2020 to better support remote and flexible working conditions and help drive increased productivity and efficiencies at FSU.  For more information about how to upgrade to Teams visit How do I upgrade to Teams?

Make the change

Upgrade from Skype for Business Online to Teams.  When you upgrade to Teams, you will register for Teams Only mode.  This means that you will use Teams as your primary application for chat, meetings, calls and collaboration. Download the Microsoft Teams app to start using Teams today!

Note: Once you upgrade to Teams and register for Teams Only mode, Skype for Business Online application access and functionality will be reduced.
