This university-wide communications platform allows you to collaborate with colleagues or students in real-time via instant messaging, audio calls, video calls, web conferencing and desktop sharing—making it easy to stay connected at work and on the go.

There is no charge for this service.

To have Skype for Business Online installed, most users will need to contact their department’s computer support technician. See below for additional information.

If you have admin access to your computer, follow the instructions below to access this service on your computer:

  1. Uninstall any previous versions of Skype for Business
  2. Sign in to your Office 365 account
  3. Choose the Settings gear icon from the top-right corner of the page
  4. In the dropdown list under Your app settings, select Office 365
  5. Click Software
  6. On the left side of the page, click Skype for Business
  7. Under Install Skype for Business Basic. (For Office 2016), click Install
  8. Follow the steps in the pop-up window
  9. The streaming installation will begin
    NOTE: Do not go offline or restart your computer until the installation is complete
