Directory Assistance

FSU Directory Assistance options include both departmental and employee listings. Directory information is accessible online and via our automated Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. Below you will see the different types of directories offered and who maintains the information. Please see the options provided to help you keep your contact information current.

Directory Changes

Departmental:
To make changes to your departmental listing:

  • Submit a support request with the following information:
    • Category: IT Support Services
    • Specialty Type: other
    • Detail: BLANK

Employee:

  • To make changes to office location, mail code, title/role or department, please contact your departmental HR representative.
  • For information on how to update your preferred name, fill out and submit the HR Preferred Name Change Request form

You can get a snapshot of your contact details, such as phone numbers and email addresses, in your myFSU My Profile. You can make changes to those details there as well as directly in myFSU HR. Use the navigation along the left for additional options.

It may take some time for these changes to be reflected in the FSU Directory. See the table below for more information.

Departmental

Departmental Directory Details:

  • Each department, main unit or program will have a minimum of one listing
  • References to staff and titles are not permitted
  • A phone number may only be used once
  • Each listing will include basic contact information (Division, Department, Unit or Program, main phone/fax numbers, and building and room).

  • All listings will be included in online, automated and printed directory formats as follows:

    • Automated FSU directory assistance at 644-2525 or "0" on campus

Employee

If an employee does not have a direct campus phone line or mobile phone listed in the Faculty & Staff Directory, please use your department's main telephone number as their campus contact.

Automated Directory Assistance (IVR)

FSU's automated directory assistance, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), system includes Departmental and Employee listings. Since off-campus Directory Assistance calls (411) will be charged $1.30 per call, due to CenturyLink tariffs, we recommend using the IVR (644-2525 or "0" from campus) as an alternative.
