ITAPP partnership helps College of Business thrive

Through the ITS Information Technology Administration Partnership Program (ITAPP), ITS employees are embedded in colleges and departments across campus, giving individual departments a direct line of access to central ITS resources while maintaining an in-house IT support team.

ITS employees in ITAPP departments aim to address the department’s unique existing and evolving business and technical needs. ITAPP IT directors work closely with partners to develop innovative projects and departmental goals and objectives, which deepen the partner relationship and provide measurable markers for success. IT staff in the college or department work under the direction of the IT manager to provide technical expertise, direct support to patrons, liaise with ITS specialists and move projects forward.

The FSU College of Business, an ITAPP partner since 2009, relies on the partnership with numerous ITS groups.

“Being a part of ITAPP is both exciting and rewarding. It allows us to leverage centralized ITS services while simultaneously innovating with customized solutions and providing ‘boots on the ground’ technical expertise to the college.” - Elana Harper, College of Business IT manager

Before becoming an ITAPP member, all College of Business IT functions and systems were managed in-house—from networking and servers to email and file storage. Since joining in 2009, ITAPP has assisted the College of Business with transitioning these major services under the ITS umbrella while ensuring the department’s custom needs were being met along the way.

“Overall, having an in-house IT support team through ITAPP allows our college to thrive. ITAPP truly fosters innovation within the college and meaningful collaboration with central ITS,” Harper reflects.

And collaboration is exactly what ITAPP is about.

“Our team strives each day to bolster closer customer and ITS relations. From lightning-fast issue resolution to policy development and project management, our ultimate goal is to set our students, faculty and staff on the road to success!” exclaims Harper.
