Whether best summed up in 280 characters or when a picture is still worth a thousand words, social media gives brands channels to engage with their customers in a concise and entertaining way.
Here at ITS, we use our social media to give students, faculty and staff insight and tips on the technology required to achieve excellence in academics, research and innovation while building a relationship with them. We use social media to:
- Increase awareness of ITS
- Drive increased usage of ITS services and support
- Connect with users
- Become a trusted source for tech information
We do this through four social platforms, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Facebook is used for more formal, informational posts about ITS services, updates, news, events and industry trends, with a primary focus on news. Here you can find tons of information and useful tech resources. Some of our features include newsletter highlights, research spotlights and various tech tips. You can read about new partnerships to enhance technology at FSU or read about the people who work hard to deliver critical technology to the university.
Instagram is used to engage with our followers and personify ITS visually. We also use Instagram to inform our followers about ITS events. We have student and intern features, event recaps, funny tech reels and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into all things ITS. We also post event reminders and fun games on our Instagram Stories to connect with us. Whether through a game of this or that or a quick tour of the ITS building, our Instagram will give you a look at the environment and personality of ITS.
ITS uses Twitter to share snippets and teasers about ITS services, tech tips, news, service incidents and tech memes, and relevant content from other university departments. Twitter is also used to share more relatable and feel-good content to make your day a little brighter. YouTube (FSU Information Technology Services)
YouTube consists of training videos, extended information on major updates, cyber security tips and more. YouTube focuses on tech education for the FSU community and provides special access videos to highlight who ITS is and how we support the FSU community. Two of our most popular YouTube series are our Student Tech Fee spotlights and Cybersecurity trainings.
