Chief Information Security Officer
Bill leads the Information Security and Privacy Office at FSU. This office ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of FSU data and protects the privacy of the information entrusted to our university. His team does this by focusing on policy, risk management, training, survivability, cybersecurity operations and incident response.
Prior to coming to FSU Bill worked as a cybersecurity consultant. Throughout his career, Bill has accumulated 25 years of IT security, privacy and governance experience, mostly in the financial services industry, with the last six years in the public sector.
Bill obtained his master’s degree in educational technology at The George Washington University and holds numerous certifications, including Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Afterhours, Bill spends time with his family.
