Guest Access to University Computing Resources

Guests to Florida State University (a person with no faculty, staff or student affiliation) may acquire access to FSU computing resources. Below are several ways for guests to connect while on campus. By connecting, guests agree to abide by the university’s Network Access and Use Policy.

Account Access

Delegated Access Students can grant a delegate (e.g. parent, guardian) access to specific information in their student records. Delegates can access myFSU portal and university public Wi-Fi (FSUGuest). More information

Wireless Access

 

 

FSUGuest Guest Registration

Visitors to Florida State University’s main campus can connect to the university’s public Wi-Fi network—FSUGuest. This is a self-service feature available to all guests at FSU. This temporary access is limited to a two-day timeframe.

  • The guest will need to provide a valid U.S. phone number with one of the following carriers: Sprint, Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile
  • A text will be sent to the phone number provided and will include an auto-generated password to sign in to FSUGuest

 

 

Sponsored      Guests

Visitors who require access to secure FSU computing resources may be registered as a sponsored guest. A department can request a sponsored guest sign in by submitting a case through the FSU Service Center a minimum of 10 business days in advance with the following information:

  • Sponsor's FSUID username
  • Guest’s email address
  • Access requested (e.g. Blackboard, Wireless Networking, VPN)
  • MAC address (if personal computer is being used)

 

 

 

Wireless Tokens

A department may request wireless tokens to provide extended guest access to the FSUGuest network for multiple users. To request wireless tokens, please submit a support request through the FSU Service Center a minimum of 7 business days in advance and include the following information:

  • Sponsor: name and contact information of department representative responsible if issues of inappropriate use of the token(s) are discovered
  • Date range: start date/time and end date/time that the token(s) should be activated
  • Quantity: number of token(s) needed
