myFSU Student & Alumni Email Upgrades to Microsoft’s 2013 Platform
Next week, Florida State University will upgrade all myFSU student and alumni email accounts to the 2013 Microsoft Exchange Online platform. The upgrade will provide students and alumni with 50GB of mailbox storage space and a slightly cleaner look to the email interface. The upgrade is scheduled to start on Sunday, October 20, and the process should be transparent to users.
All myFSU email accounts were recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 365 in August of this year. The upgrade, required by Microsoft, was step one of a phased approach and was running on Microsoft Exchange’s 2010 platform. The October upgrade will migrate all myFSU email accounts and mailboxes to Microsoft’s 2013 platform and double mailbox capacity. In addition to a 50GB mailbox, Office 365 offers integrated calendars, anywhere access from mobile devices and Outlook capabilities for Mac users.
