Multi-step verification launches for students
Multi-step verification (MSV), an extra layer of security designed to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive university information, is now available for students at Florida State University. Starting November 20, students need multiple items—their password and their mobile device—to access select pages in Student Central that contain sensitive information. When trying to access a protected page, students must follow the on-screen prompts to verify their identity in one of three ways: phone call, text message/passcode or a push notification to the Duo Mobile app (recommended). These changes also impact alumni, delegates and admitted applicants. To prepare, students are encouraged to sign in to myFSU portal, register a device and download the Duo Mobile app.
