Guest Access to University Computing Resources

Guests or visitors (a person with no faculty, staff, or student affiliation) may acquire access to FSU computing resources. These visitors must be sponsored by someone who is affiliated to ensure Internet Use Compliance.

Guest FSUID Account Secure Access

For visitors requiring login access (username and password) to secure FSU computing resources. The hosting department or academic unit can request a login by submitting an online case through the FSU Service Center and designating an individual as the sponsor.

  • The case should be placed at least 10 business days in advance.
  • When submitting a case the following items must be included:
    • The sponsor's FSUID username and the email address of the guest
    • Type of access requested (e.g. Blackboard, Wireless Networking, VPN, etc.)
    • Mac Address (If personal computer is being used)
Guest Wireless Network Access
(Wireless Tokens)

Visitors can be granted access to the public WiFi internet (FSUWIN). There are no secure FSU computing resources included (i.e. Blackboard, OMNI, etc.). The hosting department or academic unit can request logins (also known as "wireless tokens") for the FSUWIN WiFi network by submitting a Technology Support Request (TSR) and designating an individual as the sponsor.

  • The TSR should be placed at least 10 business days in advance.
  • When placing a TSR, the following items must be included:
    • A responsible individual (name and contact information) from the department must be identified to distribute, track and manage the tokens if issues of inappropriate use of the account is discovered
    • The date range the accounts should be activated and deactivated by stating a start date/time and an end date/time
    • Quantity (number of accounts needed)
Parent/Third-Party Access

Parents, guardians, and other third-parties of interest can be granted limited access (see below) to a student's account. The student can request a login by following the instructions on how to provide parent/third-party access.

  • Some of the third-party access features include:
    • Account Statement
    • Certification Request
    • Make a Payment
    • My Address
    • My Class Schedule
    • My Grades (Most Recent Term)
