Collaboration Service

Application description:

Office SharePoint Server 2010 is a new server product line from Microsoft which is part of the 2010 Microsoft Office system and integrates seamlessly with Microsoft's Office 2010 products and the ITS Exchange email service. The strictly web driven service facilitates implementation of business processes and collaboration utilizing the suite of tools for managing content, such as documents versioning and workflow, event calendars, announcements, tasks lists, wikis, blogs, and discussion forums. Enables users to easily initiate or participate in workflows, which are the automated movements of documents or items through specific sequences of actions or tasks that are related to a business process, such as the approval process for an expense report. Enables users to effectively conduct relevant searches for people, documents, and data, to participate in forms-driven business processes, and to access and analyze large amounts of business data. With prior experience using Office 2003 and up, and completion of self-paced tutorials provided by the service, users are able to navigate sites and be effective in a matter of minutes. The service is a great option for those of need to collaborate with personnel both internal and external to Florida State University.
