myFSU Portal Opens to Faculty and Staff

The Faculty & Staff community in myFSU portal opened April 22, 2013. myFSU portal is a personalized gateway into important online tools and applications at FSU. Faculty and staff can use the portal to view personal HR data, manage work lists and access other job-specific applications and links.

FSU Launches myFSU Student Central

myFSU Student Central is Florida State University’s new comprehensive, integrated student information system. The web-based system manages all student academic, financial and personal information, and it has been rolling-out in phases since late last fall.

Discovery in the Fast Lane: Florida State University to Speed up Research Efforts Through New Federal Grant

Florida State University is about to get a throttle boost thanks to a National Science Foundation grant. The grant will fund the development of the Nolenet Express-lane, a dedicated, high-speed pipeline that will speed up data transmission rates among Florida State University researchers and their collaborators.

University adds features to its mobile app for Apple devices

Information Technology Services (ITS) at Florida State University has launched the latest version of the myFSU Mobile app for Apple mobile devices. The updated version has four new features, which will enhance existing features such as Blackboard Learn, Athletics, News and Dining Information.

myFSU eMail

myFSU (@my.fsu.edu) is a hosted solution provided by Microsoft that provides e-mail, communication and collaboration services to FSU students and alumni. Florida State University, thanks in part to the University’s Student Technology Fee, provides students and alumni.

Implementation of Campus-wide Migration to a Unified Microsoft Exchange 2010

Information Technology Services is pleased to announce a significant change regarding email services to the University community. Campus-wide migration to a unified Microsoft Exchange 2010 platform is scheduled to be fully implemented over the upcoming winter break, beginning at 6PM on December 23, 2011.  Please note that email services for ALL faculty, staff, and retirees will be affected during the migration. Employees will have access to their FSU email during the winter break, but there will be periodic service interruptions during the transition process.

Latest myFSU Activation Winner Announced

Last week’s winner was Shelly Murawski, a Management major, minoring in Hospitality. Students are entered into weekly drawings this semester for XBox games and other giveaways when they activate their myFSU accounts. A grand Prize drawing for a XBOX 360 Kinect Bundle will be held on 12/2/11. Activated accounts are already entered to win. Many more winners yet to come…

Streamlining Access with eORR

In a continuing effort to improve internal security, accountability, and access controls within FSU’s student administrative computer applications, ITS implemented a new procedure for managing NWRDC accounts and access to FSUID applications as of July 1, 2011. The old process to request or remove an account at NWRDC required the submission of one or more online forms. Similarly, the FSU identity management applications also required a hard copy form. Now requests for a NWRDC account and requests for FSU identity management applications have been streamlined via eORR, OMNI's electronic online role request process.

FSU Launches myFSU Service for Students & Alumni

Information Technology Services (ITS) recently launched an enhanced email, communication and collaboration services platform for students and alumni, which includes popular features such as a 10GB lifetime @my.fsu.edu email account;  7GB of cloud-based file storage; online PC backup/synchronization utilities; online collaboration tools; online MS Office Web Applications; and mobile access to FSU email and more. The new platform, branded myFSU, is the result of an innovative partnership with Microsoft Live@edu that will provide the University with a lifetime communication link to alumni.
